As part of his residency here, the Red Bastard laid down a challenge to London.

In one of our busiest months ever, we were front and centre at Circusfest 2014 in a bigger and better way than any other publication with seven different writers covering ten events. Outside the big top, we covered Bourgeois & Maurice’s new soiree, the last serving of Scottee’s Hamburger Queen and that latest outing of Christine Bovill’s PIAF.

We spoke to the Tiger Lillies’ Martyn  Jacques about their old projects, their new projects and the Bunny Suicides. We handed out tips on what to see in circus, at the Brighton Fringe and the London Festival of Cabaret. And we heard from Mister Meredith and Benjamin Louche about the state of cabaret and the 1980s musical landscape respectively.

Below, we’ve compiled the hottest articles from April for your delectation. Get stuck in.
