Back and better than ever, the Cabaret Zingers column lines up for your delectation our recommendations for coming week.
Zinger Of The Week: The Double R Club, Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, Thursday
Dark, disturbing and definitely not for the delicate, The Double R Club has given London more nightmares than a metric tonne of Cheddar. For the last three years, it has provided transgressive treats to a loyal audience who has lapped up its Lynchian-styled brand of variety.
Host Benjamin Louche’s barbed tongue is worth the ticket price alone and the bill is rarely less than exceptional. This month or another, we urge you to find out for yourself why last week this cabaret institution has won the prize for London Cabaret Awards’ Best Ongoing Production for the last two years.
And, if you do go, be on your best behaviour: you don’t fuck with the Double R Club.
