Birgitta Kenyon will be attempting to form a choir at the 2014 Cabaret Convention.

On Saturday 11 October, Paul L Martin will be holding his second Cabaret Convention. The event will be held at the Proud Archivist and Excess All Areas’ supremo is inviting all and sundry within the cabaret industry in London and beyond to join him there.

The producer of the London Cabaret Awards, Cabaret Confidential and Cheese ‘n Crackers is already hard at work putting together a panel to comment on the hot topics of the day, with the discussions being broadcast live by Rosie Kohl’s Vaudeville Broadcast. What the panel will be commenting on is unknown but it should be lively – cabaret folk certainly like a debate or two.

Those who prefer to exercise more than their chins or gin-fingers can look forward to being through their paces by Ooh La Lou and Ella Boo of The Folly Mixtures. Their pre-lunch fitness session will be a handy introduction to those yet to sample their Burlexercise.

And there’s more. John Bland will be exhibiting his Cabaret Soup videos and Birgitta Kenyon (above), who appeared at the Cheese ‘n Crackers tenth anniversary show, will be attempting to form a choir from scratch within an hour.

London Cabaret Award judge Oliver Jack and industry veteran Dusty Limits will be on hand for a summation at the end of the day before Cabaret Confidential’s Jamie Anderson and pianist Tom Carradine invite all to take part in their variety show.

The 2014 Cabaret Convention will take place on Saturday 11 October at the Proud Archivist in Haggerston, N1. Tickets are £12 and are available from http://www.paullmartin.co.uk.
