Wherever you are this March there’s certain to be something circussy heading your way, with a healthy number of small, mid-scale and large tours doing the rounds.  Canada super-troupe Cirque Eloize are still in London until the 7th with Cirkopolis, before moving on to Southampton, Bradford and Birmingham later in the month.

The fast and furious Cirque Berserk have moved from a successful winter season into their first tour of theatre venues across the country, while their parent company Zippos Circus opens its 2015 season in Lewisham from the 26th.

Juggling meets TEDtalk in Beta Testing, providing the Circus Geeks’ special formula of edutainment to venues around the UK. All Or Nothing still have some dates in Scotland and Wales with their aerial dance theatre show Three’s A Crowd, and there is also a Welsh tour of Mary Bijou Cabaret‘s Hitch,  inspired by the many varied works of Alfred Hitchcock. The Circus Of Horrors‘ Night of The Zombie freak show is still going strong too, playing up and down England until the end of the month.

The Easter holiday season starts at the end of the March, with Blackpool Tower Circus launching their Easter Extravaganza, and Great Yarmouth Hippodrome setting off with their Pirates Live, both from 28th.

No month seems complete without a peek in at Jackson’s Lane, and here we have Finnish circus theatre company Uusi Maailma with a dark and twisted looking Globally Wanted from 4-7th.  On the 28th is also a chance to see the in-house work of JL Circus, showcasing the work of the venue’s own youth programme.

For a showcase on a grander scale, treat yourselves to the band new devised solo pieces from this year’s graduating class at the National Centre for Circus Arts.  Split into two programmes – Fire/Earth and Air/Water the next generation of performers can be seen from 25th-28th at 17:30 and 20:30 each day, in interchanging time slots.

Now the ground is waking up, the tenting teams are also coming out in force around the country, so don’t forget to check who may be appearing near you on the list here.  Or, if you prefer a more traditionally theatrical fare, the Cameron Mackintosh musical BARNUM is on tour too, featuring a tight-wire walking Brian Conley as the infamous showman himself!

And, as ever, if there’s something that we should be watching that’s not on our list so far, do let us know in the comments below!
