Snoop Lion, the artist formerly and most popularly known as Snoop Dogg, launched his cabaret impresario career last weekend in no small style.

In collaboration with Sin City entertainment moguls TAO, Snoop Dogg-as-was threw himself headlong into his own short run of speakeasy-flavoured nights last weekend. Turning up with an entourage of flappers (as we predicted) plus the obligatory cabaret dwarf, he rocked out a celeb-infused audience both behind and in front of the decks. He plans to hold another five shows over the next few months, all with a Twenties vibe and his own good self mixing tracks and performing live.

We weren’t there to witness the goings-on but Las Vegas Review Journal’s Doug Elfman had this to say about the evening.

1. Snoop arrived in a 1928 Cadillac limo Saturday night. Verdict: Badass.

2. He moved into Tao nightclub at the Venetian to launch Snoopadelic Cabaret by DJing while scantily clad female dancers did their thing in flapper gear. Verdict: Yes.

3. Snoop rapped The Next Episode, Nuthin’ But A G Thang, Drop It Like It’s Hot and Gin and Juice. Verdict: This is a man who is always working it.

4. In attendance: Ginuwine, Trinidad James, Dash Mihok, Peter Facinelli and Jermaine Dupri. Verdict: Entourage props.
