Perk those ears up, ladies and gentlemen. This is one black cat whose path you will definitely want to cross this weekend.
Today is supposedly the most depressing day of the year but here’s something that may turn that frown upside down. This Is Cabaret have their well-manicured mitts on two tickets for this Saturday’s grand opening of the Black Cat Cabaret’s latest and greatest chapter. They say that is “immersive, theatrical and full-scale”. Given their past ventures at the Cafe de Paris and as part of the infamous Boom Boom Club, who are we to disagree?
This particularly pussy is now prowling around a secret venue in the Kings Cross area for a series of special shows on 24 January, 14 February and 1 and 29 March. The line-up for this Saturday’s inaugural outing is truly the cat’s whiskers. Frisky of (Frisky & Mannish and Hi-Top Drop fame) and Alternative Eurovision winner Marcel Lucont are overseeing a stellar cast. Fire-breathing pig Chrisalys is a master of theatrical cabaret and will make you appreciate sausages and chocolate mousse in a whole new way while the gorgeous burlesquer Vicky Butterfly will be aloft a spectacular silver moon. And then there’s hooping from Helen Orford, juggling from Florian Brooks and late night musical shenanigans from Burning Beat.
We have only one pair of tickets to give away. We wish we had more but, as Marcel would say, c’est la vie. To get your hands on them, you can enter the competition in one of three ways.
